Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients to improve mobility, function, and strength
- Develop individualized treatment plans and update them as patients progress
- Complete thorough documentation using the EMR for evaluations, notes, and discharges
- Guide and supervise PT Assistants and Aides to ensure high-quality patient care
- Communicate clearly with physicians and interdisciplinary team members about care plans
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and protect patient privacy in all interactions
- Assist with patient transfers, mobility support, and safe ambulation practice
- Participate in scheduling coordination and follow-up with front office staff
- Support clinic marketing and referral development when appropriate
- Maintain certifications and engage in continuing education to keep skills current
Qualifications
- Degree in Physical Therapy (required)
- Active license as a Physical Therapist in California, or plans to test in the near future
- Comfortable with 8-10 hour clinic days and being physically mobile throughout the day
- Ability to safely lift and assist patients up to 50 pounds
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and basic computer skills
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and DX coding practices
- Knowledge of Medicare, workers' compensation, private pay, and related billing nuances
- Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with physicians and staff
- Experience supervising clinical support staff (PTAs, aides) is a plus
- Commitment to patient safety, documentation accuracy, and HIPAA compliance
Education
- Degree in Physical Therapy

- Patient evaluation and development of individualized treatment plans
- Rehabilitation techniques for outpatient populations
- Electronic Medical Record documentation and charting best practices
- ICD-10 and DX coding for billing and clinical clarity
- Understanding of Medicare, workers' compensation, private pay and auto/liens billing
- HIPAA regulations, patient privacy and professional ethics
- Safe patient handling, transfers, and mobility assistance
- Strong interpersonal communication with patients, physicians, and office staff
- Basic computer literacy: Word processing, email, internet, scheduling systems
- Ability to make independent clinical decisions and prioritize patient care
