Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the outpatient operating room
• Maintain aseptic technique and ensure sterile fields are established and preserved
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to optimize patient outcomes
• Prepare patients for surgery and provide clear, compassionate education and reassurance
• Respond effectively in trauma or emergent situations at this Level II Trauma center
• Float to the main OR when needed to support surgical volume and team needs

Qualifications

• Current California Registered Nurse license (required)
• Current BLS and CPR certifications (required)
• At least 2 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience (required)
• EPIC experience (required) to handle perioperative documentation with confidence
• Successful completion of prior travel assignments preferred
• ACLS preferred
• PALS preferred
• Willingness to work some weekends and float to main OR as needed

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Comfortable with outpatient surgery workflows and rapid patient turnover
• Proficiency with EPIC or similar electronic medical records
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and communicate clearly in fast-paced OR settings
• Familiarity with trauma protocols and Level II Trauma center processes
• Teamwork mindset and adaptability when floating between outpatient and main OR
