Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients using evidence-based physical therapy interventions to improve mobility, strength, and function
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and document progress in the EMR
• Perform accurate ICD-10 coding and ensure documentation supports billing and authorizations
• Supervise and mentor PT Assistants and Aides to maintain high-quality patient care
• Collaborate with physicians, front office staff, and other providers to coordinate patient care and follow-up
• Assist patients with transfers, mobility, and safe ambulation; provide hands-on support when needed
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and participate in privacy training and reporting
• Participate in business marketing and referral-building activities to support clinic growth

Qualifications

• Degree in Physical Therapy (required)
• Active Physical Therapy license in the state you will practice — or plans to test soon
• Comfortable with physical demands including lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting patient transfers
• Experience with EMR documentation and familiarity with ICD-10 coding
• Ability to supervise PT Assistants and Aides and provide clear clinical direction
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, physicians, and office staff
• Commitment to HIPAA and OSHA compliance and patient privacy

Education

• Degree in Physical Therapy
• Continuing education courses preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and treatment planning
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation
• ICD-10 coding and PT billing practices (Medicare, workers' comp, private, auto, liens, cash-pay)
• HIPAA privacy practices and OSHA compliance
• Patient mobility, transfer assistance, and safe ambulation techniques
• Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, internet navigation, and typing
• Supervisory skills for managing PT Assistants and Aides
• Strong clinical decision-making and independent treatment judgment
