Shift Type: Varied/rotating schedule; 40 hours/week guaranteed with opportunity to pick up additional shifts (up to 48 hours) as needed; exact start/end times and days scheduled by the facility

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ behavioral health needs and develop person-centered plans of care with the interdisciplinary team
- Coordinate and provide nursing care in collaboration with physicians and clinical staff
- Document, report, and verify patient information accurately and timely according to policy
- Monitor patient safety and report any risks or changes in condition to physicians
- Provide therapeutic milieu management and support discharge and after-care planning
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and community resources
- Function as a clinical leader by delegating assignments, promoting staff development, and supporting a safe environment
- Support medication and physical health oversight and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Model the organization’s mission and values through professional behavior, communication, and compassionate care
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with active Michigan nursing license at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience (required)
- Current BLS certification (required)
- Experience with milieu management, group and individual behavioral health nursing
- Comfort serving diverse populations across inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings
- Strong documentation, communication, and clinical leadership skills
- Willingness to complete and maintain required programmatic trainings and competencies
Knowledge & Skills
- Nursing process and patient assessment skills to inform care planning
- Care planning, implementation, and evaluation in behavioral health settings
- Accurate patient documentation and reporting
- Patient education and family engagement techniques
- Care coordination across interdisciplinary teams and community resources
- Safety monitoring and risk identification
- Clinical leadership, charge nurse experience, and staff training
- Scheduling, staffing awareness, pre-authorization processes, and discharge planning
- Medication oversight, physical health monitoring, and community residential care approaches
- Culturally sensitive, faith-informed care consistent with organizational values
