Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients' behavioral health needs and develop individualized, person-centered plans of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
- Provide and coordinate nursing care with physicians and clinical staff for individuals and groups
- Document thoroughly, report accurately, and verify necessary information per policies and standards
- Educate patients, families, and significant others on treatment plans, discharge planning, and aftercare resources
- Monitor safety, identify potential risks, and promptly report concerns to prevent adverse outcomes
- Lead clinically by delegating and coordinating staff assignments, promoting development and training
- Support a therapeutic milieu and maintain a safe, recovery-focused environment in residential and hospital settings
- Contribute to quality improvement, review care protocols, and recommend process enhancements
- Model the organization’s mission and values through professional conduct, compassionate care, and clear communication
Qualifications
- Active Michigan RN license required at time of submission
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience (required)
- Experience with medication management, milieu management, and safety monitoring
- Comfort functioning as a charge nurse or clinical leader and supporting staff development
- Ability to complete and maintain required annual programmatic training and demonstrate competencies
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to compassionate, person-centered care

- Milieu management and creating safe therapeutic environments
- Patient and family education with clear, empathetic communication
- Staff training, scheduling, and pre-authorization coordination experience
- Familiarity with teletherapy/telehealth services and remote care workflows
