Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility to promote independence
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition, including vital signs and behavior
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided
- Support a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients and families
- Collaborate with nurses and the care team to deliver coordinated, person-centered care
- Respond promptly to patient needs and call lights with professionalism and empathy
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — proud proof of your core skill
- State CNA certification or eligibility to obtain state certification (Maine credentials preferred)
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs, transfers, and basic clinical tasks
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; a positive attitude goes a long way
- Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Education
- Completion of an accredited CNA program or equivalent training
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in personal care, bathing, grooming, and toileting assistance
- Vital signs measurement and basic patient observation
- Accurate documentation and charting practices
- Infection control and safety best practices
- Empathy, patience, and effective interpersonal communication
- Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
