Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across a range of acuity levels, using evidence-based practices
• Manage ventilator settings and perform respiratory assessments to optimize patient breathing
• Perform airway management procedures and administer oxygen therapies safely and effectively
• Interpret ABGs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to adjust care plans
• Initiate and titrate respiratory treatments, monitoring patient response and documenting appropriately
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and home treatment strategies
• Respond to respiratory emergencies, including rapid response and code situations, with calm and competent action

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (required)
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical respiratory therapy experience (per job posting)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; advanced certifications (ACLS) preferred or supported
• Active state respiratory care license or ability to obtain licensure in Texas (licensure assistance available)
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and team communication skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate's degree or equivalent preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and troubleshooting
• Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
• Airway management and suctioning techniques
• Oxygen therapy modalities and aerosolized treatments
• Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic health records
• Infection control best practices and patient safety focus
• Effective patient and family education skills
