Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, supporting dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) with patience and respect
• Take and document vital signs, report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Support mobility, transfers and safe ambulation to reduce fall risk
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident interactions
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and family members to deliver person-centered care
• Follow infection control protocols and contribute to a clean, safe resident environment

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous experience working with older adults or in long-term care is a plus
• Ability to pass background checks, TB screening and any required health screenings
• Compassionate communication skills and ability to work well within a care team
• Reliable, punctual and able to perform physical aspects of the role

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification (required) — facility may accept equivalent state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of geriatric care principles and resident dignity
• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, safe transfers, ADL assistance
• Clear documentation and observational skills to notice small but important changes
• Infection control practices and safe handling procedures
• Strong interpersonal skills to connect with residents and families
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs in a busy environment
