Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff promptly
• Follow care plans and document resident interactions accurately and professionally
• Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Foster a warm, respectful environment that supports resident dignity and independence
• Participate in team huddles and support a positive, collaborative workplace culture

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) required or equivalent credential
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar preferred
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and required immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach
• Physical ability to assist with transfers and perform direct resident care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
• Understanding of infection control and safety procedures
• Skill in safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics
• Ability to observe, document, and communicate changes in resident condition
• Familiarity with maintaining resident dignity and promoting independence
• Teamwork and time-management skills in a fast-paced care setting
