Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing team
• Support a safe and comfortable environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively during shift handoffs
• Promote resident dignity and social engagement through respectful interactions
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver consistent care

Qualifications

• GNA or CNA certification preferred; equivalent state-approved certification accepted
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• State GNA/CNA certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care needs and common age-related conditions
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, transfers, safe resident handling
• Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety principles
• Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and team members
• Reliable documentation and attention to detail
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
