Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults, treating each person with dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support mealtime needs and ensure residents receive proper hydration and nutrition
• Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff to ensure timely interventions
• Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Help create a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in social activities and mobility when possible
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and coworkers

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or state-recognized geriatric nursing assistant credential
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with physical care tasks and able to follow care plans
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude toward older adults
• Willingness to complete required background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited GNA program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic patient care and ADL assistance
• Vital signs monitoring and safe transfer/ambulation techniques
• Infection control practices and proper use of PPE
• Accurate documentation and charting
• Teamwork, communication, and resident-centered care approach
• Observation skills to notice changes in condition and report appropriately
