Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with daily living activities
- Support mobility and transfer needs while promoting resident independence and safety
- Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
- Assist with meals, hygiene, toileting, and dressing with dignity and respect
- Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the care team
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification or equivalent (required)
- Previous experience in long-term care or with geriatric populations is a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach
- Able to pass required background checks and facility onboarding screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident hygiene
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Basic observation skills for identifying changes in condition
- Infection control practices and attention to safety protocols
- Teamwork and clear communication with nursing staff and leadership
