Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
- Maintain clear, timely documentation to support continuity of care
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met
- Promote a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety protocols
- Engage residents in friendly conversation and activities to support emotional well-being
Qualifications
- GNA certification or equivalent required
- Current state-required certifications and clear background check
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or able to obtain
- Previous experience working with older adults or in long-term care is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a kind, patient approach to care
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
- Knowledge of standard infection control and safety practices
- Able to document care accurately and communicate observations clearly
- Team-oriented mindset with a focus on resident dignity and person-centered care
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
