Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting
- Monitor residents and report changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
- Take and record vital signs and communicate findings in clear, timely documentation
- Support mobility needs, assist with safe transfers and fall prevention strategies
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and families, offering emotional support
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe care environment
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- Active, unrestricted license or certification as required by Maryland regulations
- Comfort working the 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM night shift
- Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in basic patient care and activities of daily living
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
- Good observational skills to notice subtle changes in residents
- Compassionate communication with residents, families, and colleagues
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently when needed
