Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery care for moms and newborns from admission through postpartum
• Perform continuous fetal monitoring and interpret tracing data to support safe delivery outcomes
• Support breastfeeding and implement Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative practices to promote early bonding
• Assist with newborn care and stabilization, including NRP protocols when indicated
• Serve as charge nurse on occasion after appropriate training, coordinating unit flow and supporting teammates
• Float to other departments as needed, contributing where you’re qualified and needed most

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 3 years recent experience in Labor & Delivery (required for consideration at Tsehootsooi Medical Center)
• Required certifications: ACLS or ALSO, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring (may substitute RNC-EFM for AWHONN FHM)
• C-section experience and comfort supporting operative deliveries and postpartum care
• Ability to function as charge nurse after training and to float to other areas when needed
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a team-first attitude

Education

• Current RN licensure required
• Nursing diploma, ADN or BSN (education level not explicitly required in posting; RN licensure is essential)

• Labor & Delivery clinical expertise and maternal/newborn care knowledge
• Fetal monitoring interpretation and electronic fetal monitoring proficiency
• Newborn stabilization and neonatal resuscitation (NRP) skills
• Breastfeeding support and Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative practices
• Inpatient postpartum assessment and care planning
• Ability to manage moderate unit acuity including occasional charge duties
