Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to Med-Surg patients
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and IV therapies accurately and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, discharge planning and follow-up
• Recognize and escalate changes in patient condition in a timely manner
• Maintain clear, accurate charting in the facility’s electronic medical record

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (TN license or compact license as applicable) — ready to practice
• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience (per job posting)
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or available depending on unit needs
• Comfortable with 12-hour night shift work and managing a varied acuity patient population
• Ability to complete employer-required onboarding: background check, drug screen and immunizations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in Med-Surg care
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV/infusion management
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation practices
• Excellent communication and patient/family education skills
• Team-oriented approach and ability to collaborate across disciplines
