Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans that improve outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate timely, effective care
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Document care and patient progress clearly and professionally in the EMR

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Tennessee licensure or compact eligibility recommended)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with medical-surgical experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Demonstrated ability to manage a full patient assignment on a med-surg unit
• Strong clinical judgment, time management, and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical assessment and vital signs interpretation
• Medication administration and IV/infusion experience
• Wound care and basic post-operative care
• Proficient charting/documentation in electronic medical records
• Effective patient and family education techniques
• Team collaboration, prioritization, and critical thinking under pressure
