Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to laboring, antepartum and postpartum patients
• Monitor fetal and maternal status using electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and promptly escalate changes
• Assist with and support vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections as part of the OB team
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and CPN to ensure continuity and quality
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiology, pediatrics and unit staff to deliver coordinated care
• Maintain safe patient ratios (1:1, 1:2, 1:3 OBED) and prioritize patient safety in all interventions
• Serve as a team player, mentor colleagues when needed, and contribute to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience with demonstrated Labor & Delivery and Antepartum experience
• Required certifications: EFM/AWOHNN, ACLS, NRP
• Comfortable supporting vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
• Experience with Meditech and CPN EMR systems is a plus
• Ability to work night shifts and meet weekend scheduling requirements
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Electronic fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Labor, antepartum and postpartum assessment and interventions
• Vaginal delivery and cesarean section perioperative/support skills
• Proficiency with Meditech and CPN charting systems
• Ability to manage variable patient ratios and prioritize care
• Clear communication with interdisciplinary teams and families
