Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, dignity-focused care to residents and patients
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) with respect and patience
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Document care and observations clearly and promptly in the resident chart
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain infection control practices and a clean, safe environment
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
• Active or eligible for North Carolina CNA listing or registry
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with lifts and transfers; able to follow safe patient handling practices
• Clear background check and drug screen as required by facility policy
• Reliable attendance and a caring, team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Experienced in personal care and assisting with ADLs
• Skilled at taking and recording vital signs and observing changes in condition
• Knowledge of infection prevention and safety procedures
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-first mindset
• Basic charting and documentation skills; ability to follow care plans
• Compassionate bedside manner and the ability to work efficiently in a busy setting
