Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality external beam radiation treatments using Varian 21 EX/iX systems with precision and compassion
• Perform and verify treatment setups using CBCT/kV/mV imaging and ensure accurate positioning for each patient
• Execute IMRT and other advanced treatment techniques according to physician plans and safety protocols
• Calculate and verify radiation dose delivery and assist with treatment planning checks
• Document treatments and patient interactions accurately in EPIC and ARIA charting systems
• Collaborate with physicians, medical physicists, and the oncology care team to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain radiation safety standards and participate in quality assurance activities to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• California State Radiation Therapist License (required)
• ARRT (Radiation Therapy) certification and ARRT (T) (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience
• Hands-on experience with Varian 21 EX/iX linacs and ARIA (required)
• Familiarity with EPIC charting and treatment planning systems such as Pinnacle or Eclipse (preferred)
• Ability to work effectively in an oncology center and provide compassionate patient care

Education

• Not specifically stated — certification and licensure (ARRT, ARRT (T), CA State License) are required

Knowledge & Skills

• External Beam Therapy and IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy)
• Treatment planning fundamentals and dose calculation practices
• CBCT/kV/mV imaging for patient setup and verification
• Experience with ARIA and EPIC charting systems
• Operational knowledge of Varian 21 EX/iX linear accelerators
• Use of treatment planning systems: Pinnacle and Eclipse
• Radiation safety protocols and isolation precautions
• Patient handling skills including lift/transfer devices and pretreatment workflows
• Procedural skills: custom molds, custom shields, block cutting, portal cast, wedges
