Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents by assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Monitor and record vital signs and changes in condition accurately and promptly
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility to support resident independence and safety
- Communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary care team and families to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain tidy, accurate documentation and complete any required charting in a timely manner
- Follow infection prevention protocols and facility policies to protect residents and staff
- Support admissions, discharges, and transitions to make sure residents feel comfortable
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) certification (NH or VT licensure accepted as noted)
- Comfortable working night shifts and available for every-other-weekend coverage
- Minimum competency in basic nursing skills and resident safety
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screens, and meet facility health requirements
- Professional attitude, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
Education
- Completion of an accredited LNA training program
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and personal care
- Able to take and document vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control and safety practices
- Good observational skills to notice changes in residents’ conditions
- Strong time management, teamwork, and bedside manner
