Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Support residents with bathing, grooming, dressing and mobility
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
- Accurately document care, vital signs and resident interactions
- Work collaboratively with nurses and support staff to deliver person centered care
- Maintain a safe, clean and respectful environment for residents
- Engage residents in meaningful conversation and activities to support wellbeing
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Maine
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable providing hands on personal care and following care plans
- Reliable, compassionate, and able to communicate clearly with teammates and families
- Previous experience in long term care or similar settings is helpful but caring attitude is key
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care and infection prevention practices
- Proficiency with resident transfer and safe lifting techniques
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Basic charting and documentation skills
