Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents at the Gettysburg Center
- Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status, escalating concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Document care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement care plans
- Educate patients and families about care, medications and discharge plans
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and adhere to infection prevention protocols
- Support unit staff through mentorship, clear communication, and teamwork
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; additional certifications (ACLS, PALS) are a plus
- Comfortable working a 12.5-hour day shift (3:00 AM - 3:30 PM) with a 30-minute meal break
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and time-management skills
- Previous acute care or long-term care nursing experience is preferred
Education
- Nursing diploma, ADN or BSN (as applicable) — degree or equivalent nursing education
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and clinical judgment
- Medication administration and IV therapy fundamentals
- Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
- Infection control and patient safety practices
- Effective communication with patients, families and care teams
- Prioritization and delegation in a fast-paced clinical setting
