Shift Type: Rotating day and night shifts; schedule includes both day and night coverage with variable start and end times depending on posted schedule (rotating coverage across weekdays and weekends)
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate respiratory care to patients in an acute care rural hospital setting
- Manage and troubleshoot ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment
- Perform assessments, develop treatment plans and adjust therapies based on clinical data
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Deliver patient and family education on respiratory diagnoses and home care
- Respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and participate in code responses
- Accurately document interventions, assessments and progress in the medical record
Qualifications
- Active Respiratory Care Practitioner license in New Mexico or eligible for licensure
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Experience in acute care respiratory therapy preferred, especially ventilator management
- Ability to work both day and night shifts, including weekends
- Strong critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent required; Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with ventilator settings and management
- Arterial blood gas interpretation and respiratory assessment
- Familiarity with respiratory equipment, oxygen delivery and aerosol therapies
- Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
- Ability to prioritize in fast-paced acute care scenarios
- Excellent patient and family teaching skills
