Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality direct patient care on a medical-surgical unit with compassion and clinical confidence
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following policies and patient-specific orders
• Perform timely patient assessments and document changes to promote safe, coordinated care
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
• Participate in handoffs and shift-to-shift communication to ensure continuity of care
• Support discharge planning and patient education to promote recovery and reduce readmissions
• Respond to clinical changes and escalate concerns promptly to maintain patient safety

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to the start of the contract
• Experience in Med/Surg nursing (ability to provide competent med/surg care)
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including consecutive weekends as needed
• Current clinical competence in medication administration, documentation, and bedside assessments

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med/surg clinical knowledge and comfort with common medical-surgical diagnoses
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across disciplines
• Accurate and timely patient documentation and charting
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced unit
• Patient-centered care approach with attention to safety and clinical detail
