Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday through Sunday coverage; every other weekend required (Day, rotating)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based maternity care across labor, delivery, and postpartum
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using appropriate assessment tools and escalate changes promptly
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and interventions safely while documenting thoroughly
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, neonatology, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
- Educate and support patients and families on labor progress, postpartum care, and newborn basics
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to enhance patient care
- Coach and precept team members and travel colleagues to maintain excellent continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New York or ability to obtain state licensure before start
- Current BLS required; NRP preferred for labor/delivery/newborn care
- Travel nurse credentials and documentation (immunizations, TB test, background check) ready for quick onboarding
- Clinical experience in labor & delivery, maternal-child, or similar maternity settings preferred
- Strong teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy skills
Education
- ADN or BSN in Nursing required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in fetal monitoring and interpretation of tracings
- Skilled in labor support, delivery assistance, and immediate postpartum care
- Newborn assessment and basic neonatal care knowledge
- IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency response capabilities
- Comfortable with electronic charting and clear, timely documentation
- Ability to educate and support families through labor, birth, and postpartum transitions
