Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgery
• Create and maintain a sterile, safe surgical environment for pediatric to adult patients
• Circulate during vascular and orthopedic procedures and support scrub duties as needed
• Integrate and coordinate patient care across the surgical continuum, including C-section coverage in Labor and Delivery
• Provide pre- and post-operative patient education and emotional support
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC and communicate effectively with the surgical team
• Operate and assist with advanced technology including the DaVinci X1 robotic system when applicable

Qualifications

• New York Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate required and must be uploaded with submission
• Current New York nursing license (state RN licensure required)
• Minimum 2 years of current Operating Room nursing experience
• Required experience in Orthopedic and Vascular surgery
• DaVinci X1 Robot experience required
• EPIC experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (current)
• Experience in both scrub and circulating roles required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Traveler must have reliable personal vehicle
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• One supervisory signed reference within the past two years of employment

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient use of EPIC for perioperative documentation
• Strong sterile technique and OR safety practices
• Clinical expertise in vascular and orthopedic surgical procedures
• Familiarity with robotic-assisted surgery workflows and the DaVinci X1 system
• Comfort caring for a pediatric to adult patient population
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and communicate effectively under pressure
• Competence with perioperative patient education and post-op monitoring
