Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to acute patients in a busy ED
• Rapidly triage and assess patients, prioritizing interventions for the sickest cases
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in line with protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and support staff to coordinate efficient care
• Document patient assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately in Meditech
• Manage patient assignments consistent with the unit’s 4:1 ratio, ensuring safe care
• Support unit flow during peak volume and assist with critical transfers and discharges
• Share best practices, mentor less experienced staff and contribute to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience (Emergency nursing experience preferred)
• TNCC, ENPC or ALS (preferred)
• Certification such as CEN or PEN is a plus
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and in a fast-paced emergency environment

Education

• Active RN license (required)
• ADN accepted; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing skills and critical thinking in high-acuity situations
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR for documentation and order management
• Triage, IV therapy, medication administration and ECG recognition
• Excellent communication, teamwork and the ability to prioritize under pressure
• Familiarity with ED equipment and protocols for rapid assessment and stabilization
