Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing interventions to promote recovery
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition with clinical judgment and urgency
• Maintain accurate, timely charting and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (valid in Texas) required
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg nursing experience as noted in the posting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS/PALS as applicable or preferred
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong clinical assessment skills and a team-player attitude
• Travel nursing flexibility and ability to complete a 13-week assignment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles, acuity assessment and documentation
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and bedside charting
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and remain calm under pressure
• Good IV, medication administration and wound care skills
