Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care through skilled evaluation, treatment planning, and delivery of physical therapy services
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure Medicare and facility compliance
- Assess and assist with transfers, gait and balance to improve patient mobility and safety
- Perform manual therapy techniques and patient handling consistent with facility protocols
- Report and interpret treatment results to the Rehab Director and interdisciplinary team
- Supervise support personnel in immediate work areas and contribute to staff development
- Develop and present in-service training and participate in community education and PR activities
- Coordinate care with nursing and other clinicians to carry out individualized treatment plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (required)
- Current certification with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
- Active Louisiana physical therapy license (must be licensed in the state)
- Able to safely lift, turn, and transfer patients, including minimal assist transfer capacity (ability to lift and control 50 pounds)
- Comfortable performing physically active duties (physical tasks constitute the majority of the role)
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with Medicare requirements and billing/reporting expectations
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy

- Patient evaluation and development of individualized treatment plans
- Manual therapy techniques and therapeutic interventions
- Gait and balance assessment, and training to improve functional mobility
- Safe patient transfers and handling
- Accurate clinical documentation and Medicare compliance
- Supervising and mentoring support personnel
- Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
