Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care through skilled evaluation, treatment planning, and delivery of physical therapy services
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure Medicare and facility compliance
• Assess and assist with transfers, gait and balance to improve patient mobility and safety
• Perform manual therapy techniques and patient handling consistent with facility protocols
• Report and interpret treatment results to the Rehab Director and interdisciplinary team
• Supervise support personnel in immediate work areas and contribute to staff development
• Develop and present in-service training and participate in community education and PR activities
• Coordinate care with nursing and other clinicians to carry out individualized treatment plans

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (required)
• Current certification with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
• Active Louisiana physical therapy license (must be licensed in the state)
• Able to safely lift, turn, and transfer patients, including minimal assist transfer capacity (ability to lift and control 50 pounds)
• Comfortable performing physically active duties (physical tasks constitute the majority of the role)
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with Medicare requirements and billing/reporting expectations

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
