Shift Type: Night shift, 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, typically 3x12-hour nights per week (36 hours). Facility may consider 48 hours as needed. Exact weekly schedule varies by unit needs.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cardiopulmonary evaluations and deliver evidence-based respiratory therapy
- Provide life support interventions and advanced airway management when indicated
- Deliver neonatal resuscitation and labor and delivery respiratory support in collaboration with the OB/NICU team
- Educate patients, families and caregivers on respiratory care plans and follow-up
- Operate and document care in Epic, ensuring accurate and timely charting
- Apply critical care proficiency to manage complex patient needs across hospital areas
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and safety
- Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies
Qualifications
- Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License (temporary agency registration must be uploaded for submission)
- NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
- NRP, BLS, PALS and ACLS certifications current and uploaded
- Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Care Program required
- Demonstrated Labor & Delivery and Neonatal Resuscitation experience required
- Critical care proficiency and prior acute care experience
- Completion of verbal de-escalation training from Welle or CPI for onboarding (required as of 1/1/2024)
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years
- Profile must include permanent address that matches state ID/driver license (some NY counties excluded for travel eligibility)
Education
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited program (required)
- NBRC RRT certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Epic experience is a MUST for seamless documentation and communication
- Strong skills in cardiopulmonary assessment and respiratory treatment planning
- Proficiency in life support protocols and advanced airway techniques
- Ability to perform neonatal resuscitation and support in labor and delivery settings
- Excellent patient and family education and communication skills
- Comfort working across multiple hospital areas and adapting to changing acuity
- Familiarity with agency compliance requirements including drug screening and credential uploads
