Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and compassion
- Support safe transfers and mobility to promote independence
- Take and record basic vital signs and report changes to the care team
- Provide meaningful companionship and engage residents in routine activities
- Document care accurately and communicate observations to nurses and supervisors
- Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) — this job’s core skill
- Comfort working with older adults and a patient, kind approach
- Reliable attendance and a team-first attitude
- Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic resident care and assistance with ADLs
- Measuring and recording vital signs accurately
- Effective, respectful communication with residents and team members
- Awareness of infection control and safe care practices
- Documentation basics and following care plans
- Strong observation skills and the ability to escalate concerns
