Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: PRN (as-needed): 2 weekend days per month (Friday and one Saturday, not necessarily consecutive) plus 4 weekdays — total 6 shifts/month. Specific start and end times are not provided in the posting; shift times may vary based on unit needs.
Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate patient care using professional nursing judgment
- Assess patient status, recognize changes, and communicate concerns clearly to the care team
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in the medical record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Support patient and family education to promote recovery and self-care
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan (or compact/multi-state as applicable)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications preferred where applicable
- Experience in acute care nursing preferred; clinical competency appropriate to the assigned unit
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills — able to step in and contribute quickly
- Must be eligible for UHC transition candidates pool (posting restricted to transition candidates only)
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Familiarity with medication administration and safety practices
- Effective interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Adaptability to cover varying shifts and unit needs as a PRN clinician
