Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate patient care using professional nursing judgment
• Assess patient status, recognize changes, and communicate concerns clearly to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in the medical record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Support patient and family education to promote recovery and self-care
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan (or compact/multi-state as applicable)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications preferred where applicable
• Experience in acute care nursing preferred; clinical competency appropriate to the assigned unit
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills — able to step in and contribute quickly
• Must be eligible for UHC transition candidates pool (posting restricted to transition candidates only)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Familiarity with medication administration and safety practices
• Effective interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Adaptability to cover varying shifts and unit needs as a PRN clinician
