Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
- Take and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing team promptly
- Provide safe patient transfers and mobility assistance to prevent falls and injuries
- Document care accurately and timely to support continuity and quality of care
- Support comfort, emotional well-being, and communication with residents and families
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a healthy environment
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) — state certification required
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Dependable, compassionate attitude with solid communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in long-term care or similar setting is a plus
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved CNA program and active CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and assistance with ADLs
- Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, observing changes in condition
- Accurate documentation and charting practices
- Infection control, safety procedures, and compliance
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to comfort residents
- Time management, reliability, and a teamwork mindset
