Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage complex, post-op cardiac and critically ill patients using advanced hemodynamic assessment
- Administer medications and titrate vasoactive drips safely and accurately
- Perform focused and comprehensive patient assessments and implement evidence-based nursing interventions
- Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Respond quickly to clinical changes and lead emergency interventions when needed
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress clearly in the electronic health record
- Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during critical care recovery
- Participate in unit-based quality initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to practice in Texas) — travel nurses should ensure state licensure requirements are met
- Minimum 1 year of critical care experience, preferably CVICU or cardiac ICU experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN or other critical care certifications preferred
- Strong critical thinking, assessment, and crisis management skills
- Comfortable with central lines, arterial lines, arterial monitoring, and advanced cardiac monitoring
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and interpreting invasive lines
- Experience with ventilator management and respiratory support for post-op cardiac patients
- Skilled in administering and titrating vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medications
- Familiarity with post-operative cardiac care protocols and chest tube management
- Excellent clinical documentation and electronic health record navigation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
