Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients
• Assess patient status, recognize changes quickly, and escalate concerns to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately per orders
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care plans
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and supporting teamwork

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure — eligible to practice in Tennessee (or compact licensure if applicable)
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with a focus on medical-surgical nursing
• Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start) — facility may require additional certifications
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to a travel assignment schedule
• Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency in patient assessment and care planning
• Experience with medication administration and monitoring
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Team-oriented mindset and strong patient advocacy skills
