Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver expert, compassionate critical care to adult ICU patients, monitoring and responding to changes in condition
• Manage ventilators, hemodynamic support, and advanced monitoring with clinical confidence
• Administer medications and titrate drips safely and accurately
• Lead timely, precise documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to implement care plans
• Respond rapidly to emergencies and codes, following established protocols
• Provide patient- and family-centered education and emotional support during high-stress moments

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (ability to obtain NC license or compact privileges)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience (critical care background required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification; CCRN preferred
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills in high-acuity settings
• Ability to work independently as a travel RN and integrate quickly with existing teams

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced knowledge of critical care nursing principles and ICU equipment
• Proficient with ventilator management and interpretation of hemodynamic parameters
• Skilled in medication administration, IV push/infusion pump management, and titratable drips
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management skills
• Familiarity with EMR documentation and accurate charting practices
