Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered emergency nursing care in a high-volume ED environment
• Perform rapid, accurate triage and continuous cardiac monitoring to prioritize patient needs
• Document clinical care clearly and efficiently using Cerner
• Coach and give real-time feedback to colleagues to support a culture of continuous improvement
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and unit techs to ensure smooth patient flow
• Adhere to AIDET and other patient experience practices to keep patients informed and respected
• Follow unit-specific policies and contribute to bedside safety and quality initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to work in North Carolina)
• Minimum 2 years’ nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
• Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork mentality and ability to coach and provide feedback in real time
• Comfortable with floating throughout all sections of the ED and working in a high-volume setting

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (ASN/BSN) — required

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing best practices and triage skills
• Cardiac monitoring and use of GE monitors
• Familiarity with Baxter pumps and other ED equipment
• Proficient Cerner documentation skills
• Patient experience focus (AIDET, respectful communication)
• Ability to manage patient ratios typically 4:1 (medical) and adjust for behavioral holds
