Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered emergency nursing care in a high-volume ED environment
- Perform rapid, accurate triage and continuous cardiac monitoring to prioritize patient needs
- Document clinical care clearly and efficiently using Cerner
- Coach and give real-time feedback to colleagues to support a culture of continuous improvement
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and unit techs to ensure smooth patient flow
- Adhere to AIDET and other patient experience practices to keep patients informed and respected
- Follow unit-specific policies and contribute to bedside safety and quality initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to work in North Carolina)
- Minimum 2 years’ nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
- Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork mentality and ability to coach and provide feedback in real time
- Comfortable with floating throughout all sections of the ED and working in a high-volume setting
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (ASN/BSN) — required
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing best practices and triage skills
- Cardiac monitoring and use of GE monitors
- Familiarity with Baxter pumps and other ED equipment
- Proficient Cerner documentation skills
- Patient experience focus (AIDET, respectful communication)
- Ability to manage patient ratios typically 4:1 (medical) and adjust for behavioral holds
