Shift Type: Night shift, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (overnight); schedule varies by rotation — includes 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care for general surgery patients, monitoring cardiac rhythms and responding to changes quickly
- Manage patient assignments of 6–7 patients on shift while maintaining safety and clinical priorities
- Administer and manage IV therapies, TPN, PCA pumps, and IV antibiotics with attention to detail
- Perform ostomy, NG/PEG/Dobhoff, and drain care (biliary, JP, nephrostomy) with competence and compassion
- Collaborate closely with charge nurses, providers, unit secretaries, and CNAs to coordinate patient care
- Document accurately in Cerner EMR to ensure continuity and clarity of patient information
- Support post-operative care for a variety of procedures including urology, bowel resections, cholecystectomies, and more
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of practice) — compact licensure accepted where applicable
- Minimum 2 years of recent telemetry or med-surgical nursing experience
- Telemetry competency and current BLS certification required
- Comfortable managing 6–7 patients depending on shift
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Experience with TPN, PCA pumps, Baxter IV pumps, wound vacs, and tube feeds is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Med-surgical post-operative care (urology and colorectal focus)
- IV therapy, TPN management, and PCA operation
- Ostomy care, NG/PEG tube management, and drain care
- Wound vacs and wound care basics
- Familiarity with Baxter IV pumps and infusion management
- Cerner EMR documentation skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
