Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour night shift schedule with every third weekend scheduled (Night shift)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert post-operative cardio-thoracic and vascular nursing care in the Progressive Care Unit
- Continuously monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to keep patients safe
- Manage chest tubes and post-op drains with meticulous attention to detail
- Administer and titrate cardiac drips (e.g., dobutamine, dopamine, Levo) following protocols
- Care for patients with external, epicardial, and transvenous pacers and rapid transfuser use when needed
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in Sunrise EMR
- Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, and the interdisciplinary team for coordinated patient care
- Educate patients and families about post-op recovery, device care, and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to practice in New Hampshire or compact RN eligible)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience (PCU/telemetry or cardiac post-op strongly preferred)
- Cardio-thoracic post-op surgery experience required — candidates without this will not be considered
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
- Comfortable with high-acuity skills: chest tube care, telemetry, pacer management, and vasoactive drips
- Experience with Sunrise EMR or similar electronic charting systems preferred
- Organized, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced progressive care environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition
- Cardiac post-op nursing and chest tube management
- Vasoactive medication administration and titration
- Epicardial, external, and transvenous pacer management
- High flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP support and respiratory monitoring
- Use of IV pumps, rapid transfuser, bladder scanner, and patient lifts
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and clear communication
- Accurate, timely documentation in Sunrise EMR
