Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver precise external beam radiation treatments using Varian TrueBeam and departmental CT simulator to adult and geriatric oncology patients
• Perform CBCT/kV/mV imaging and CT simulation to accurately localize tumors and guide treatment
• Operate and maintain treatment accessories: custom molds, custom shields, block cutting, wedges and beam-shaping tools
• Implement IMRT and SRS treatment protocols with attention to safety and accuracy
• Collaborate with IV teams, pharmacy, radiology and social services to provide coordinated, patient-centered care
• Respond effectively as part of Rapid Response/Code teams and use defibrillators/crash cart equipment when needed
• Provide compassionate patient/family teaching and explain procedures, positioning and safety measures
• Document treatments and charting accurately in the preferred charting system (Epic preferred)

Qualifications

• ARRT (T) certification REQUIRED
• BLS (AHA) REQUIRED (AHA in-person; HeartCode not accepted)
• CRT certification REQUIRED
• Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience REQUIRED; 3 years preferred
• Experience with Adult Acute Care and Adult Outpatient settings
• Comfortable with Varian ARIA/Vision, TrueBeam and Varian Trilogy/21ex systems
• Familiarity with IMRT, SRS, CBCT imaging, CT Simulation and tumor localization
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinic serving oncology patients with professionalism and empathy
• COVID-19 vaccine + booster required per facility guidelines (medical/religious exemptions only)

Knowledge & Skills

• Varian TrueBeam, Varian 21 ex/ix, Varian Trilogy and ARIA/Vision record & verify systems
• CBCT/kV/mV imaging and CT simulation workflows
• IMRT and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) techniques
• Eclipse (Varian) treatment planning familiarity
• Block cutting, custom molds/shields, wedges and field shaping
• Radiation safety principles and protocols
• Ability to assist with IV starts, patient lifts/transfers and care of patients in restraints when required
• Emergency response skills: crash cart, defibrillator, rapid response/code team participation
• Charting and electronic medical records (Epic preferred)
• Strong patient/family teaching and communication skills
