Shift Type: Night schedule, 3x12-hour nights per week (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), night shift; weekends required on a 6/6-week rotation; float between units as needed
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias to keep patients stable and informed
- Provide skilled IV therapy, start and maintain IVs, and manage PICC/central lines with precision
- Administer and monitor blood products and adhere to heparin protocols and medication safety
- Respond rapidly as part of Rapid Response/Code teams to manage urgent clinical events
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RT, PT, pharmacy, phlebotomy) to deliver coordinated care
- Care for post-cardiac cath and cardiac-drip patients, including titration and close monitoring per protocols
- Manage respiratory supports such as HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care and ABG interpretation
- Provide neuro-focused care for post-neurosurgery/TPA/post-intracranial bleed patients as needed
- Perform accurate, timely charting in Epic and support quality documentation standards
- Deliver compassionate patient education and discharge planning to promote positive outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (state requirements apply)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience (1st-timer travel RNs welcome)
- Telemetry experience and comfort with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- Epic charting experience (required)
- BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
- Skill in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/PICC line care
- Ability to work night shifts and participate in weekend rotation
- Comfort floating between units in a busy short-term acute care, Level II trauma center
Education
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
- Current RN licensure (state-specific)
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- IV therapy, PICC and central line care, and phlebotomy
- Blood product administration and heparin protocol familiarity
- Management of cardiac and vasoactive drips per facility guidelines
- ABG interpretation and respiratory support modalities (HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, trach care)
- Chest tube management and post-procedure cardiac care (post cath, sheath removal, TR Band)
- Neuro-focused competencies: post-TPA care, craniotomy/aneurysm post-op monitoring
- Epic electronic charting and strong documentation habits
- Rapid response/code team participation and emergency response skills
- Wound care, PCA monitoring, and general med-surg telemetry competencies
