Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, supporting daily living activities
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while preserving dignity and independence
• Support safe transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and condition changes accurately
• Communicate resident needs and changes promptly to the nursing team and leadership
• Help create a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in meaningful activities
• Follow established care plans and infection control protocols to keep residents safe

Qualifications

• State GNA certification (required) or equivalent CNA certification
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Comfortable working with older adults and those in rehabilitation settings
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Background check and health screening as required by the facility

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• State GNA or CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with basic nursing care procedures and resident safety practices
• Ability to take and document vital signs and basic observations clearly
• Knowledge of proper transfer techniques and fall prevention strategies
• Compassionate bedside manner and excellent interpersonal skills
• Comfortable with charting and following care plans
• Reliable time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
