Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance to residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns promptly to nursing staff
- Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Document care accurately and timely to maintain clear resident records
- Collaborate with the rehab and nursing team to promote resident comfort and recovery
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification (required)
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working evenings and supporting a team in a long-term care/rehab setting
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to follow care plans
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of infection control and standard precautions
- Skill in safe resident handling and transfer techniques
- Ability to observe and report changes in resident behavior or condition
- Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with documentation best practices in long-term care settings
