Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations for patients in a correctional mental health setting
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans and therapeutic interventions
• Provide individual and group therapy focused on mental health stabilization and rehabilitation
• Collaborate with custody and clinical teams to coordinate care and manage safety/risk
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
• Participate in case conferences, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives
• Train and mentor staff during the onboarding training period to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychologist in good standing (state license required) — OR — Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) as noted
• Experience working with adult populations and serious mental health presentations preferred
• Willingness and ability to work in a correctional facility and complete required background checks and clearances
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and crisis intervention skills
• Ability to commit to the 2-week on-site training schedule at the start of the assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of evidence-based therapies (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care) and psychotherapeutic techniques
• Proficient in mental health risk assessment and management
• Familiarity with behavioral health documentation standards and regulatory compliance
• Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and custody staff
• Cultural humility and competence working with diverse adult populations
• Good organizational skills and comfort managing caseload priorities in a structured setting
