Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality gastroenterology care including ERCP and inpatient consults
• Manage 24-hour call coverage Monday through Friday with safe, timely decision making
• Collaborate with hospitalist and surgical teams to coordinate patient care
• Perform endoscopic procedures with attention to patient safety and outcomes
• Document patient encounters clearly and communicate plans to the care team
• Participate in case review and handoffs to maintain continuity of care

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship
• Active Michigan medical license or ability to obtain licensure before start
• ERCP required with demonstrable procedural proficiency
• Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology
• Willingness to provide 24-hour call coverage Monday through Friday
• Strong teamwork skills and experience working with inpatient consult services

Education

• MD or DO with completed Gastroenterology fellowship; board certification or eligibility preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced endoscopic skills including therapeutic ERCP
• Clinical judgment for acute inpatient gastroenterology presentations
• Ability to triage and prioritize patients during in-house call
• Clear verbal and written communication with multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with peri-procedural patient management and safety protocols
