Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Monitor and record resident conditions, reporting changes promptly to the care team
- Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning while following facility protocols
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents’ comfort and dignity
- Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary team members to advocate for residents
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification; T-CNA candidates considered as indicated
- Current basic life support (BLS) may be required by facility (check assignment specifics)
- Ability to work overnight 12+ hour shifts (Thursday–Saturday)
- Pass a facility background check, drug screen, and required immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completed CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in providing ADL support and basic patient care
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Comfortable with vital sign collection and basic documentation
- Solid teamwork and communication with clinical staff
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy long-term care setting
- Attention to detail and respect for resident dignity and privacy
