Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 7 on/7 off, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Night)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform prescribed clinical laboratory tests accurately and efficiently to support patient care
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory analyzers and instrumentation
- Run and document quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure reliable results
- Prepare and process patient specimens, ensuring correct labeling and chain of custody
- Record and report test results in the Laboratory Information System in a timely manner
- Collaborate with clinicians and nursing staff to clarify orders and support patient treatment decisions
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements including CLIA and OSHA
- Participate in proficiency testing and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent required
- MLS/MLT certification (ASCP or equivalent) preferred
- State licensure where required by Montana regulations
- Prior clinical laboratory experience preferred, especially in hospital or acute care settings
- Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts on a 7 on/7 off rotation
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality
Education
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field; Bachelor's degree acceptable for Medical Laboratory Scientist roles
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical laboratory testing fundamentals across chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology
- Quality control and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments
- Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and electronic result reporting
- Specimen collection and handling best practices
- Understanding of regulatory standards such as CLIA and OSHA
- Good communication skills for working with multidisciplinary care teams
