Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan in a fast paced ED environment
• Rapidly assess, triage and prioritize patients to ensure timely, lifesaving interventions
• Perform clinical procedures and manage critical care needs while maintaining accurate documentation in Epic
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families with compassion and clear communication during stressful situations
• Participate in required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
• Adhere to infection control, safety and licensing requirements to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (must meet state licensing verification requirements)
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
• TNCC certification required
• Experience using Epic or similar electronic health record strongly preferred
• Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing, Trinity skills checklist, and required health screenings
• Willingness to work a travel contract and meet the non-local requirement (must be 75+ miles from facility)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills with the ability to prioritize quickly
• Proficiency with Epic documentation and electronic charting workflows
• Knowledge of advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support protocols
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration and emergency procedures
• Excellent communication and teamwork in high acuity settings
• Comfort working nights in a busy emergency department
