Roles & Responsibilities

• Float confidently between medical, surgical, and occasional cardiovascular units to meet patient needs
• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care using Meditech EMR for documentation
• Safely manage specialized equipment including Pyxis, Wound VACs, and chest tubes
• Assess patients, implement nursing plans, and monitor progress to promote recovery
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve outcomes
• Participate in unit orientation and maintain competency across multiple units
• Communicate clearly with patients and families to provide education and compassionate support

Qualifications

• Active Hawaii RN license required by start of assignment
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (job lists 2-10 years as typical range)
• Current BLS and ACLS required; PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC preferred
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing and float pool assignments
• Comfortable with wound VAC and chest tube management

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills with Meditech EMR for charting and care coordination
• Experience using Pyxis medication systems
• Competence with wound VAC therapy and chest tube care
• Adaptability to float between Medical, Laulima (surgical acute), and occasional Cardiovascular units
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
